Zerona Laser Body Slimming

Zerona is the first non-invasive body contouring procedure to effectively remove excess fat without the negative side effects associated with surgical methods. Zerona utilizes the same cold laser technology developed by Erchonia, which has been shown to emulsify fat and allow it to move to interstitial space. Although this technology was originally utilized to help assist tumescent liposuction procedures, it was found that the cold laser treatment alone helped patients to reduce inches from their waist, hip and thighs.

The cold laser technology behind the Zerona procedure was shown to exclusively release the cellular contents of fat cells while leaving the capillaries and other cells within the interstitial space intact. The release of the fat cell contents is the result of the disruption of the cells membrane. This membrane disruption, called a transitory pore, is the result of low-level laser stimulation.

Prior to laser exposure, fat cells have a regular, cluster shape. Within minutes of low level laser exposure, fat cells begin to develop transitory pores. This pore allows the evacuation of the cells contents into extracellular space. Once the contents of the fat cell have been emptied, they are released into interstitial space where it can be passed through the body during its normal course of detoxification.

Through a double blind, randomized, multi-site and placebo-controlled study, the Zerona procedure is proven to be an effective non-invasive cold laser weight loss and body contouring procedure. On average, patients lost on average 3.64 inches from the circumference of their waist, hip and thighs, whereas the placebo group only lost an average of a half of an inch.

The Zerona cold lasers provide patients with a safer alternative to surgical procedures, which can result in bruising, swelling, and damage to other tissues. There is no need to wear compression garments or bandages with Zerona and since there is no pain, there is no need for anesthesia. Unlike other non-invasive approaches, Zerona low-level lasers do not rely on heating tissue, which can cause discomfort. There is no downtime, so patients can resume their normal activities immediately.

FRAXEL

Fraxel Laser Treatment produces thousands of tinycolumns of treatment in your skin known as “micro thermaltreatment zones”. This treatment eliminates the old epidermal pigmented cells and penetrates deep into the dermis. Just as important though, are the areas of skin the Fraxel Laser leaves untouched. For every micro thermal zone the laser targets and treats intensively, it leaves the surrounding tissue unaffected and intact. This fractional treatment allows the skin to heal much faster than if the entire area were treated at once. This allows the body’s natural healing process to create new, healthy tighter tissue to replaceskin imperfections.

Before treatment you and your technician will discuss which area(s) of your skin is appropriate for treatment, what kind of results you can expect, what to look for after treatment and how often treatment will be scheduled. Fraxel Laser Treatment spares healthy tissue and is effective even on delicate skin areas, such as the neck, chest and hands.

By design, each Fraxel Laser Treatment targets between 20 and 25 percent of the skin’s surface. Clinical studies suggest that, on average, an effective treatment regimen is 3 to 5 sessions and spaced about 2 to 4 weeks apart. Depending upon your condition and schedule, you and your physician may choose to space treatment sessions even farther apart. Results are immediate and progressive and optimal improvement is usually visible in about 2 to 3 months.

Fraxel Laser Treatment can be performed right in our med-spa. The treatment area will be thoroughly cleansed prior to the procedure. Next, topical anesthesia is applied and then wiped off after it has taken effect; usually in about an hour. OptiGuide Blue, an FDA certified water soluble tint, is applied to the treatment area to highlight the contours of the skin. The colored tint is then washed off after treatment.

New epidermal skin develops immediately, within24 hours. This process of skin repair involves:

Bronzing: Your skin will have a bronze appearancefor 3 to 14 days, depending on the treatment level.

Flaking: Your skin will naturally and vigorously exfoliateas the reorganized skin replaces dead tissue. Flaking is similar to a minor sunburn, but without pain.Use of a moisturizer will mask the appearance of flaking.

Sunscreen: Use sunscreen at least twice daily to protect your skin from sun exposure during the healing phase and for several months after treatment. Apply a moisturizing sun block with an SPF of at least 30. For added protection from sunlight, use wide-brimmed hats.

Over the following weeks and months, the body repairs the deeper dermal tissues that have been affected by Fraxel Laser Treatment, producing beneficial changes that continue to improve over the next 2 to 3 months.

LASER TATOO REMOVAL

A little beam of light can make all the difference…

If you have a tattoo you are not alone because an estimated 20 million Americans also have one. If you want it removed then you share the same sentiment as much of the Americans that have tattoos. About half of those with tattoos report they would now like their tattoo to disappear, but without a disfiguring scar left in its wake. Laser technology has made great strides in eliminating tattoos, so this may be a good time to seriously consider tattoo removal. Everything from small, single-color tattoos to large, multicolored ones can now be significantly faded, if not completely erased. There is also little risk of the scarring or loss of pigmentation that other methods and technologies can cause.

Understanding Tattoos

Tattoos are created by embedding ink (colored pigments) in cells in the dermis, which is the layer of skin below the top layer of skin.

In the past, if you had a tattoo, you had it for life. Then along came dermabrasion, cryosurgery, and other techniques – and tattoos could be removed, but they left a scar or a visible white, un-pigmented area.

Now there’s the new VeraPulse Aesthetic Laser, a state-of-the-art system specifically designed to treat the full spectrum of tattoos.

Understanding Laser Treatment

A laser produces a beam of highly concentrated light and Different types of lasers produce different colors of light. The color of light produced by a particular laser is the key to the laser’s effect on tattoo ink.

Particular colors of light are absorbed by specific colors of tattoo ink; for example, green light is absorbed by red ink. The body then absorbs the tiny particles of ink, and the color fades.

VersaPulse Advantage

Other lasers emit a light beam of only one color of light. This meant that doctors sometimes needed as many as four different lasers to treat multicolored tattoos. The VersaPulse C Aesthetic Laser produces short pulses of a wide range of light colors to treat the full spectrum of tattoo ink. The entire treatment involves no incisions and is the most effective laser on the market today!!

What You Can Expect

Removing a small tattoo of one color may take one or two 30-minute laser treatments; multicolored tattoos may take several sessions depending on their size and type of ink. Sessions are usually spaced between 4-8 weeks apart and are performed in the doctor’s office without the costs and risks of hospitalization or general anesthesia. The laser treatment itself feels like numerous snaps with a rubber band. Most patients do not require anesthesia during the procedure. Topical or local anesthesia is provided for those who do.

The appearance of the treated area immediately after a laser session will vary from patient to patient depending on the extent of treatment. Immediate after-effects may include redness, light crusting, or tenderness, all of which disappear in a short time. Your physician will be happy to tell you more about your treatment and what you can expect.
